It’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted on this blog. In fact, aside from a couple of Facebook groups, I’ve been fairly inactive everywhere online. But I’m back now folks, so you can look forward to regular posts from me once more. I’ll even be reviving my Booktube channel in the New Year. On top of that, I now have another blog where I’ll be posting stray thoughts that come to me, a tumblr blog which also has a bookish theme, and a Facebook page which will basically serve as a stream of the stuff I’m posting elsewhere. That’s in addition to the usual socials. So, I’ve put together a handy dandy Links in Bio page to make finding me a little easier.
On a personal note, I have been struggling with both mental and physical health issues for a couple of years now. My doctors have finally figured out what’s going on though (and, no, I won’t be going into what that is) so the physical issues at least should soon be, not cured, but at least under control. Which, I hope will help with the mental health stuff, since that was a major contributor.
I’ve also discovered a new challenge to join: Novellas in November. I must have been living under a particularly remote rock because this challenge has been happening for several years, but I’ve just now heard of it lol. I’ve heard of Nonfiction November but not Novellas in November. I’ve been wanting to read more novellas, so I decided to give this challenge a go.
Finally, as I’m sure most of you are aware, we are currently enduring the AO3 Apocalypse. I’ve read through all the open tabs I could before Chrome updated, thus refreshing the rest of my tabs. Oh well, it’s an excuse to read all the downloaded fics I’ve been neglecting. Only problem is, when I catch up with what I’ve downloaded, I can’t check for updates lol. First world problems, I know, but very real to us, yes?

Did you know that Australia had three separate Prime Ministers during WWI? Nor did I. Joseph Cook, serving 1913-1914 was still serving when war broke out. Andrew Fisher, serving his third term in 1914-1915 saw the war through its early stages, and William “Billy” Hughes led Australia through to the war’s end. It’s shameful that I know so much more about American history than that of my own country. So, that will be my goal for 2027: to learn what I should already know about my nation’s history.

Words I had to look up this week:

Pronunciations I had to look up this week:

So, that’s one week done and another just beginning. Have you started, finished, or DNF’d any books this week? Are you participating in Novellas in November or Nonfiction November, or any of the other November challenges? Let me know in the comments. In the meantime, I hope something wonderful happens to you this week.
