Top Ten Childhood Favourites

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by Jana over on that artsy reader girl, which features a different bookish theme every week. This week’s theme is supposed to be cosy/atmospheric reads but I haven’t read ten of those. I don’t even have enough on my tbr to do a decent top ten list. So, instead, I’ve raided the archives and will be doing the first ever listed topic: childhood favourites.

And now, I’ll leave you with a little teaser from one of my current reads as part of Teaser Tuesday, hosted by The Purple Booker:

By this time she had found her way into a tidy little room with a table in the window, and on it (as she had hoped) a fan and two or three pairs of tiny white kid gloves: she took up the fan and a pair of the gloves, and was just going to leave the room, when her eye fell upon a little bottle that stood near the looking-glass. There was no label this time with the words “DRINK ME,” but nevertheless she uncorked it and put it to her lips.

  1. Oh gosh I used to love ‘The Naughtiest Girl in the School’. I didn’t have any Enid Blytons of my own (I grew up in a Roald Dahl house) but when me and my siblings went to play with the kids next door I would sometimes sneak away and read their Enid Blyton books!

    1. I didn’t read Roald Dahl until I was an adult. For some reason I had no interest as a kid. I get the whole sneaking the neighbour kids’ books, though. I totally didn’t do that as a kid glances around shiftily.
