Monday Bookmark: Yuumei

Welcome to the first ever Monday Bookmark, a little space to share something special from the world of books. Not a book itself, but one of the many things that make reading even better. As book bloggers, we spend a lot of time writing about, discussing and celebrating books, but what about all the little extras that come along with them? Those are fun to talk about too, right?

So, I’m setting aside some shelf space on the first Monday of every month for a Monday Bookmark, where I’ll highlight one of my favourite bookish things — a product, a place, a person, anything that contributes to my enjoyment of my beloved books. And I’m inviting you to share this experience with me. Whether it’s a beautiful bookmark, a well-traversed library, a favourite booktuber, or a clever reading app, join in and share the treasures that make your reading life richer, then post a link in the comments so we can enjoy them as well.

How it works:

  • On the first Monday of every month, post about your favourite bookish stuff. This could be a person, a place, a product, an app, a website, even just your favourite time of day to read; basically anything book related that you want to gossip about that isn’t an actual book.
  • Include a link back to Adele Bound in Books somewhere in your post.
  • You’re more than welcome to use the Monday Bookmark image above (or any future or seasonal images), or make your own that fits your site’s theme.
  • Post a comment on this month’s Monday Bookmark post with a link to your post so we can all check it out.
  • I know we are all super busy these days but I ask that you visit and comment on at least one other Monday Bookmark post. Well, once the Monday Bookmark gets up and running anyway since, being brand new, there may not actually be any other posts yet lol.
  • Above all, have fun!

For my inaugural post, I’m going to highlight one of my favourite digital artists, Yuumei. Yuumei is the author of the web comics Knite and Fisheye Placebo but it’s their art that truly shines. I am lucky enough to have a beautiful scroll hanging on my wall.

I also have a print of Rise, one of my favourite scenes from Fisheye Placebo.

The thing that prompts inclusion in this post, though, are some of their other products. I have the distinct pleasure of owning several of their stunning double-sided bookmarks, as well as a handful of postcards for my larger books. The sheer pleasure I feel every time I slip one of these into my book, it’s so difficult not to pick the book up again just to look at my bookmark lol.

So, that’s my first ever Monday Bookmark post. If you choose to participate, feel free to use the pic at the top, and remember to comment with a link so we can check out your post.
